After reading copious amounts of information about elixirs, essences, plant stones and their seemingly intangible qualities, this is the result of a schizandra and lavender tincture distilled over many times. The resulting product is a hard substance made entirely of the natural chemicals found in the plant. After sufficient digestion, the salts begin to fuse with the oils as they neutralize the organic acids in the tincture.
This form of a plant has been mentioned in many books of alchemical literature. in Frater Albertus' Alchemical Handbook he refers to this particular creation as an elixir of the first order. This is something like a precursor to the manifestation of a 'true' plant stone. Some make it sound impossible while some make it sound easy. There are many methods in regards to making alchemical products. This one happened to be found while trying to preserve the fixed oils found in the tincture.
Commonly in spagyrics, the fixed oils of the plant are burned in efforts to make the extract more powerful. In the case of most herbs, this means burning a lot of the chemicals found in modern day chemistry to have substantial medicinal properties. Things like ascorbic acid (vitamin C), cannabidiol (CBD) and the heavy immune enhancing polysaccharides found in a lot of medicinal mushrooms would never make it over in a distillation.
In efforts to preserve these chemicals simultaneously making the overall extract more potent, a method of our own has been found. Of particular focus is the salts of the herb (salt of salts) when fused with the acids and oils of the tincture (turning into fused sulphur salts). These can once again be extracted via distilled water and recrystallized. This usually results in a totally different crystalline structure compared to the pure, calcined salts.
"...The potency of such a "stone" is far greater than any medicament in the form of an elixir, as described previously" - Frater Albertus
It is amazing to see all the different things that can be created with alchemy. It is an endless quest of perfection and purification. We are excited to continue learning lessons directly from nature herself as we try and develop more potent herbal extracts. None of these creations would be possible without studying these ancient and symbolical texts. Stay tuned as we experiment more with the wonders of alchemical philosophy!
Note to fellow alchemists: This is does not contain the purified salts of sulphur. The sulphur is purposely being kept from burning in efforts to isolate the sulphur as it fuses to the salts. These fixed sulphur substances commonly have great healing characteristics and are thought to be better kept intact than calcined. When fused with salts, these usually oil soluble substances are converted into a form that is now water soluble. This greatly increases bioavailabilty of all the anti-oxidants, oils, vitamins and acids extracted from the plant instead of burning them.
